The telenovela is a remake of the Venezuelan telenovela La Dueña, written by José Ignacio Cabrujas. The name reflects a local term or slang in Mexico to address a person recognized as the main boss. However, the title is also a reflection of both the protagonist and the antagonist struggle to conquer power, authority and respect in a labor field traditionally deemed to be a man's job.

Vratiće se rode is a Serbian television series. Broadcast on B92 television in Serbia, it premiered on November 9, 2007. The series is directed by Goran Gajić and written by Nikola Pejaković along with Ranko Božić while 4 episodes were co-written between the two of them. It is produced by Cobra Films and the Adrenalin production house. It consists of 25 episodes, each lasting 45 minutes with the exception of the introductory and the last episodes, which lasted 90 minutes. Placed in a primetime 9:00 pm slot on Fridays, the series quickly achieved high viewership; its premiere was watched by 2.6 million viewers in Serbia. In addition to Serbia, in early 2008 Vratiće se rode was also shown on two stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina—Federalna televizija and RTRS —as well as in Macedonia on A1 Television. Since February 4, 2008, it has also been shown in Montenegro on TV IN, which placed it in a 8.00 pm time slot on Mondays. On March 5, 2008, it premiered in Croatia on Nova TV, which originally placed it in a 9:40 pm timeslot on Wednesdays, however it's time slot and day of airing was changed around frequently.

Return to Lonesome Dove, written by John Wilder, is a TV miniseries involving characters created in Larry McMurtry's Pulitzer Prize-winning western novel Lonesome Dove. The story focuses on a retired Texas Ranger and his adventures driving mustangs from Texas to Montana. It is a sequel to the 1989 miniseries Lonesome Dove, but was not written by McMurtry, who instead wrote and published his own sequel novel Streets of Laredo in the same time frame. It was nominated for an Emmy Award, and followed by two TV series, Lonesome Dove: The Series and Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years. Neither series lasted long. McMurtry followed Streets of Laredo with two prequels, which with Laredo were also subsequently made into TV miniseries. Many fans of the Lonesome Dove series of novels do not consider Return to Lonesome Dove or the two derivative TV series to be canonical because of their divergence from McMurtry's storyline, and the apparent motivation of its production by the success of the original miniseries.
